Currently it is being recommended that Van Wert Principal (Shannon Hulsey) and Assistant Principal (Jonathan Thomas) be relocated to another school for the next 2017-2018 school year. With the retirement of our school counselor (Larke Lanier) and our Nurse (Brandy McDowell) taking on a new job, that would mean that the children of Van Wert Elementary would return to not only a new teacher, but also, a new Principal, Assistant Principal, Counselor and Nurse. That is way too may changes for one school and even one child to have to endure. Please help me to stop the transfer of our Principal (Shannon Hulsey) and our Assistant Principal (Jonathan Thomas) by signing this petition, and please reach out to the Polk County School Board members as well concerning this matter and voice your opinion.
"We, the undersigned, call on the Polk County School Board to stop the transfer of Shannon Hulsey, Principal at Van Wert Elementary and Jonathan Thomas, Assistant Principal at Van Wert Elementary. We do not agree that these changes would be in the best interest of the children to lose a Principal, Assistant Principal, Counselor and Nurse all in the same year."
