There is an issue about network rail using residents piece of land as an access route to the rail lines behind a cul-de-sac residential road, Cherry Avenue in Langley, Slough. This came about when the residents were concerned for the safety of their children and asked the Railway contractor to repair the fencing along the rail line behind the houses and garages. A metal fencing was put up along with gates between No.48 & 49 Cherry Avenue for access to railway line and that was never agreed by the garage owners.

The Council has previously made it clear to Network Rail that they cannot use this point as an access point, yet they have continued using it and the council has not held them to account.

The issue now is that the land between No.48 & 49 is up for sale by Auction with out any notice to the residents and the rightful owners of this land. Network Rail have with out success tried to acquire right of way over this land and will no doubt will show an interest.

We are concerned that this issue has gone on for so long without a resolution, we are even more concerned that the treasury has put this land up for sale without consulting with the residents and garage owners.

We the undersigned are concerned residents of Cherry Avenue Langley who urge our Government Legal Department (GLD) to stop the sale of land in Cherry Avenue.

The residents have an ongoing dispute with Network Rail using this land as an access point to the rail lines. This not only causes a 'statutory nuisance' and disruption but also blocks he access to their garages.
