The board that manages the Contract for Ambulance Services has decided to publicly release a Request For Proposal (RFP) for Ambulance Services. Immediate renewal with Rockwall County EMS in lieu of an RFP will improve contracted response time requirements by 30% for much of the County and save approximately $400,000 in tax money during the next year.
Going to RFP will delay the improvements for a full year, the tax savings will be lost, and the critical public safety function of EMS will be open to the lowest bidder.
Rockwall County EMS has been the provider of 911 Emergency Medical Services since 1996. Locally owned, locally operated, Rockwall County's hometown EMS.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to stop the RFP process, and renew and extend the Contract for Ambulance Services with our hometown provider, Rockwall County EMS.
