The decriminalization of offences concerning children who consent to sex between the ages of 12 and 16 has moral problems.
A better approach would be to educate children on why they should wait until at least 16.
They are mentally and physically not mature enough to cope with sexual activity.
We, the undersigned, wish to oppose the implementation of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act Amendment Bill to lower the age at which children may legally engage in sex to 12 years old.
Children should be protected by the criminal law until the age of 16, when consent may be given at the age of 16.
