The Newmarket OSPCA has an outbreak of ringworm, which is fully treatable!! However, they have chosen to spend the next 3 days euthanizing over 350 cats, dogs, and small animals, as opposed to treating them!! They say this was caused by human error... so should the animals pay for their mistake with their lives!
Animals are not disposable beings... and many of us from all different communities have offered our help to treat, care, foster and/or adopt these aimals, as opposed to euthanization! Other shelters have had outbreaks of ringworm, but still treated the problem and saved the animals. This is NOT a deadly disease.. it's a fungus!
We, the undersigned, call on the Mayor of Newmarket, and the North York SPCA to halt any euthanization, and allow these animals to be treated and rehomed!!
