On any given day walking and/or walking a dog down Monroe St has become a nightmare. A resident's dogs will run out of their yard and after anyone or any dog on a leash walking down the street. It doesn't even matter if you are on the other side of the street.
The vast majority of dog attacks are a result of the irresponsible actions of dog owners, who have either not take the time and trouble to train their dog correctly, or have indeed trained them to behave aggressively.
We, the undersigned, call on the Hanover Police Department and the Hanover Village Board to address this serious issue.
The dog control ordinance needs to be enforced, especially for dogs that have acted dangerously without provocation and caused a person to reasonably believe it will cause harm.
