We have power as the consumer!

We have already seen that large-scale intensive farming causes immeasurable suffering to the confined animals. "Super farms" will mean that these animals will not get to see the light of day their entire lives, in an environment rife with antibiotic-resistant diseases (which we have seen pass from animals to humans) and unnoticed injuries.

Production in "super farms" is likely to place even more pressure on the environment and struggling small producers, hundreds of farmers are being driven out of business as a result, which will end in the remake of the world as big businesses wish it.

This is a petition for all those who are willing to spend a few pence more so that the animals we eat have a fair life and small scale ethical farmers can prosper.

We, the undersigned, call upon Peter Kendall and the National Farmers Union to eliminate the use of "super farms" and ask you to raise the welfare standards of the animals.

To stop thinking of profit whilst neglecting the basic needs of the animals.

There are other ways of producing food, these mega farms are not needed and are not wanted!
