Food provided in the canteen at the Parliament in New Delhi is subsidized to the tune of 90%. These buyers members of parliament, senators and their staff members) of food can easily pay full price of food.
When millions of children have to sleep hungry every day in India this is not the right priority. Money saved from removing this subsidy should be used to feed the poor children.
Dear Mr Prime Minister of India,
Food in the canteen of the Indian Parliament in New Delhi is subsidized to the tune of 80 to 90%. In a country where millions of children have to sleep hungry this is a wrong priority.
I am sure that members of Parliament and their staff will be glad to give away this subsidy to help poor hungry children in India.
We all humbly request to you to make this change with immediate effect.
