#Local Government
Target:
Redland City Council
Region:
Australia

Around 2010 Brisbane City Council invited Brisbane residents and visitors to have their say through surveys and information sessions regarding smoking in the Queen Street Mall. The overwhelming response from both residents and businesses demanded that action be taken.

This is a petition asking Redland City Council to offer the same type of community Feedback in regards to public smoking in the CBD.

The then mayor of Brisbane said "The surveys that we undertook [to research a potential ban showed] 82 per cent of people supported a ban and that was supported very much by other media surveys that were conducted at that time."

It's not about Big Brother watching, it's about consideration for others around you.

I support the idea of public consultation by Council in regards to banning public smoking in the Cleveland CBD.
