Barton Wilmore (a planning design company) are acting on behalf of the owners of Underhill Farm regarding planning potential on part of the land.
The land is on the western edge of Midsomer Norton and the Promoter has also indicated a much more substantial area of land to the West which is also available for development.
We, the undersigned, call upon Mendip District Council to oppose any development of this site for the following reasons:-
It is a local wildlife site;
Infrastructure impacts outside the District;
Woodland contributes to the setting of the town;
The woodland has a preservation order on the trees;
Local highway capacity - heavy congestion onto main access routes;
Flood risk (northern parcel of land);
Neither Bath adopted Local Plan and emerging Neighbourhood Plan envisage greenfield extensions to the settlement or that additional housing allocations are sustainable.
