The Landowners of the site occupied by "Cowells Garden Centre" Woolsington Village have submitted a planning application (ref:2017/0325/01/LDC) to change to a large Retail unit i.e.: supermarket. .

If granted it has potential to ruin the Village, they can build any retail unit including, and rumoured to be an Aldi. Woolsington is one of the few villages left in Newcastle upon Tyne. There is a very large retail park one mile away in Kingston Park and a Ponteland one mile the other way. With a shell Garage Supermarket in-between! Unfortunately, like our neighbouring villages, we are having to endure an onslaught of potentially 3000 houses and a "Garden Village" we are struggling currently with our road congestion, which getting into Newcastle or Gosforth in the morning can take up to an hour with the cow gate roundabout. Its horrendous. . Getting an appointment with a GP is an ongoing complaint. So now they want to build 1000s of houses on greenbelt and now a rumoured Aldi in Woolsington!? Why is Newcastle Council determined to keep targeting our area for development when there are many more areas with allot more brown belt and reasonable priced land.

This has to be submitted Wednesday (2days away) 29th March 2017. No one knew about it!

To Whom It May Concern

I strongly object to the planning application to convert Cowells Garden Centre, Woolsington Village, Newcastle upon Tyne into a retail unit. Planning reference:- 2017/0325/01/LDC
