As we all know at the 2016 Salisbury University Idol showcase, it was announced that Jason Derulo was chosen as our Spring 2016 Gullfest performer along with some local opening acts. Based off the other options that were given during voting time, I refuse to believe that people chose this performer over others listed.
I feel as though Mr. Derulo as an artist is not diverse enough to satisfy all or even a majority of student's musical tastes. I believe that there should either be a re-vote containing only performers that we can afford and that are available so that student expectations are not skewed or altered OR the second highest voted performer should be selected.
We, the students of Salisbury University, call on SOAP to select a more culturally diverse performer so that all students may be able to enjoy the Spring 2016 Gullfest festival.
