On 130th Avenue, Jamaica NY the drivers are speeding down a residential street with a 25 MPH maximum speed requirement. Children have almost been hit by these speeding cars. There is also no signage stating the speed limit which can serve as a reminders for those driving down the street.
The main intersection which is Merrick Avenue has also seen an increase in traffic due to a boom in businesses in the area and it is difficult to merge onto the incoming traffic or make a turn into the street.
The following actions would improve the traffic issues on 130th Avenue:
- Speed bumps added on street
- 25 MPH signage
- Light added on intersection of 130th Avenue and Merrick Blvd.
