Our school has decided to cut out the annual Gibbsboro School Snow Court. This decision decides to honor everyone, and in essence, honors no one.
The Snow Court of Gibbsboro school happens every year, to every eighth grade class. The Snow Court is where the entire eighth grade nominates four girls and four guys of their choice to be their Snow Court.
The Snow Court will appear at the annual Snow Dance and be honored! I know almost every girl in eighth grade has been looking forward to the chance of possibly being in the Snow Court!
It's a big deal and everyone usually is extatic about it. What is going to be done now though is the entire eighth grade shall be honored. When everyone is honored just to make something fair, then no one is! Plus the fact that it might take more time than necessary, which will cut into, not only the eighth grade's time for dancing, but the seventh and sixth grade's too!
If you see how this decision is just going to make things worse and is the wrong way to go, please sign my petition and stand up for what you believe in! I'm a Junior high student and this is what i believe! Support me and I know we'll go far!
Fellow Gibbsboro Students,
I'm addressing you today because I see that there is a great displeasure in the eyes of my peers. This displeasure is here because of the loss of Snow Court. If you are in eighth grade many of you are upset that you really won't be honored. By honoring everyone, you are, in essence, honoring no one. If you are in Seventh, sixth or other grades, then this won't pertain to you this year but it could happen to you in future years!
Boys and girls, I know that many of you have been waiting in anticipation for the chance to be nominated by your peers to be in the Snow Court. Yes you will automatically be in it, but it won't be because your friends chose you, it will only be to make things fair. Yes there is a point in life where things should be fair and i agree with that completely. But then there are special things, like the Snow Court for example, that you want to be individually recognized for.
If you agree with me wholeheartedly, please, sign this petition! By signing you are saying that you agree that taking out the Snow Court is the wrong decision to choose. Support the cause and voice YOUR opinion!
