The existing children's play equipment in Aminya Reserve (located beside Watsonia Neighbourhood House on the corner of Kenmare St and Lambourne Rd, Watsonia) is exposed to full sun for most of the day.
The lack of shade on hot days renders the play equipment unusable because it gets too hot to touch. This represents a significant health and injury risk to children, parents and carers who try to use the playground.
Shade sails are desperately needed to protect community members who wish to use the park.
We, the undersigned, call on the Banyule City Council to erect appropriate shade sails over the existing children's play equipment in Aminya Reserve (located beside Watsonia Neighbourhood House on the corner of Kenmare St and Lambourne Rd, Watsonia).
