Prior to 1994, immigrants from elsewhere faced discrimination and even violence in South Africa, though much of that risk stemmed from the institutionalised racism of the time due to apartheid. After democratisation in 1994, contrary to expectations, the incidence of xenophobia increased.

Between 2000 and March 2008, at least 67 people died in what were identified as xenophobic attacks. In May 2008, a series of riots left 62 people dead; although 21 of those killed were South African citizens.

The attacks were apparently motivated by xenophobia. In 2015, another nationwide spike in xenophobic attacks against immigrants in general prompted a number of foreign governments to begin repatriating their citizens.

CAUSE Africa with support from the citizens of the world Petition for an immediate and unconditional end to xenophobic violence against foreigners in South-Africa.

Over the past few days, foreign nationals has been brutally killed by South Africans with machetes, Sticks, stones and burnt alive. The South African king's speech against foreigners is considered by many as a trigger of violence against immigrants in South-Africa in general and in Durban in particular.

This violence started after the King has called on foreigners to "pack their bags and leave the country" local communities in South-Africa have shown that they support their king by hunting down and kill any captured African- foreigner regardless of the reason of his/her presence in South-Africa.

The reason advanced by those involved in these terrible acts is that, migrant communities are taking away job opportunities from South-Africans. The actions of the South Africans are unbelievable, unacceptable, outrageous and ridiculous.

We must all be aware that the entire world is made up by immigrants which is why we are calling on the people of the world to please sign this Petition for a complete stop to xenophobic/ Blackphobia actions against foreigners in South-Africa. Your Signature to this petition will help foreign nationals find peace, protection and stability in South-Africa.

It is only through our collective response that we may raise more awareness to the world's powerful organizations such as the UN, human rights watch, Amnesty international and the entire international community about this sad event.

We demand through this petition His Excellency Jacob Zuma and his entire government officials to end the violence in South Africa now and save the lives of thousands of innocent people. We also call on members of the African Union and the ICC to take very serious action against those who bear the greatest responsibility for gross violence of international humanitarian law be brought to book.

Please be a hero, save lives and sign for peace!
