The Metropolitan Council, Hennepin County and the City of Mound have planned to build a bicycle trail along the North side of Westedge Boulevard from the intersection of Highway 110/Commerce Boulevard and Westedge Boulevard to the Dakota Regional Trail on Westedge Boulevard. The trail will require the acquisition of 12 feet of property from each homeowner located on the North side of Westedge Boulevard. Their goal is to provide MORE trail access to the Dakota trail and, we believe, to have it eventually connect to the Lake Minnetonka Regional Park along County Road 44.

The Dakota Trail is a 13 mile paved pathway connecting Wayzata, Orono, Minnetonka Beach, Spring Park, Mound, Minnetrista, and St. Bonifacious (Carver County has extended the trail for 12.5 miles to connect from St. Bonifacious to Mayer.) There are already 5 to 6 designated parking areas for the trail: 175 Grove Lane, Wayzata; 5515 Lynwood Blvd, Mound; Westedge Boulevard at trail crossing; Gale Woods Farm; and 4150 Bell Street, St., St. Bonifacious (and State Highway 25/First St. NW, Mayer.)

We, the undersigned, are opposed to the construction of a bike trail along Westedge Boulevard.
