Please wake up and help the Hensler's of North Huntingdon, PA keep our "Pet Chickens". We have 7 hens & 2 roosters as our pets and are seeking a Variance in the Township Ordinance to keep them until they pass on.
We are circulating petitions to present to the Zoning Board at the Nov 13, 2007 meeting. We have raised chickens for 6years & Sundae (a rooster) was even awarded a 1st Place "Most Unusual Pet Award" by the Township in 2005, to now be told that he & the others are not Pets. We have had as many as 15 at one time and never had a problem. We DO NOT KILL THEM, they pass on.

We, the undersigned, call on the North Huntingdon Township Zoning Board to grant the Hensler's a Variance in the Township Zoning Ordinance to include their Chickens as their Pets until they pass on, never to be replaced.
