In his 2009-2010 budgets, Governor Ed Rendell, proposes to cut funding to the Scotland School, in order to balance Pennsylvania’s budget.
We are asking the Commonwealth not to close The Scotland Military School for Veterans Children. The future growth of the children’s education and well being is imminent and it would be a mistake to close the only school of this nature in the entire United States.
Additionally, Scotland School is not just a learning facility it is indeed a family, where the camaraderie and experience is deeply rooted in the morale of the students taught by the faculty who provide exceptional student support and offer better opportunities for academic success and future accomplishments.
We, the undersigned, call on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to keep The Scotland Military School for Veterans' Children open. We oppose Governor Rendell’s proposal to sever the funding.
We thank you for your action on this important matter.
