Target:
Prestbury parish council

United Kingdom

Prestbury Parish Council took over responsibility for these toilets only recently from East Cheshire Council and has now taken the controversial decision to close the toilets down in February 2016. No one knows yet what they re going to do with the empty space thereafter.

We want to preserve our toilets simply because so many people use them.
Walkers, parents, shoppers, coach loads of tourists, residents and school children all use these public toilets.

I have been the local lollipop lady for years and years and I am very well placed to see just how often these toilets are used week every day. The toilets are now surrounded by green foliage, trees and bushes, it's very attractive and currently fronts onto the River Bollin.

My concern is that this otherwise tranquil and picturesque area in Prestbury will be destroyed and thereafter the area could be concreted over to make way for a car park or development of some kind.

This means the area could become noisy and will be rather ugly, whilst also no longer providing a very practical and useful public service.

Very few residents support the change.

Many thanks
