Janet Williams has been the fantastic manager at Netherwood Day for 20 years. Now she has been told by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust that she is not qualified for the job and will be made redundant.
This is an outrage.
Janet has cared for so many of our loved ones and has become a support, a shoulder to cry on and one of the family. She brings joy to family carers and service users alike and she loves the people with whom she works.
She has an empathy and understanding of dementia that far exceeds any paper qualifications. Yet how is her devotion and care to be repaid? With the sack.
We must defend her and defend the excellent service she has given us and countless others over the years.
