The Times in the UK on December 8, 2007, reported the interesting event of the UK MP in charge of anti-terrorism scrutiny, Mr. Keith Vaz, together with other politicians, taking part and actively supporting the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) hero’s day event in the UK on November 27, 2007!!

The full article can be found at http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article3019231.ece Mr. Keith Vaz spoke after participants watched a televised address by Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the LTTE, a terrorist organization banned by the Home Office. When told of the contents of the LTTE leader’s speech and of the criticisms of the Sri Lankan Government, Mr Vaz, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils, responded: “I’m not really interested in [the contents of Mr Prabhakaran's speech]"!

There are two things that consistently make terrorist groups successful - the blind mob following by a misguided group, and the inaction, apathy, hypocrisy or connivance of an otherwise decent society. The latter is the policy that was followed by most governments including UK and the US, before AlQuaeda hit closer to home. Having a blind-following of significant numbers does not make a terror group or their fight "legitimate" or "fair", but it makes the terror group politically appealing to unscrupulous politicians fishing for easy votes. One big reason for the current sorry state of the conflict in Sri Lanka has been the abundance of these political opportunists on both sides of the divide. Seems that UK is not immune to these political opportunists.

Ms Ryan, the MP for Enfield North, , told the rally: “I am sorry to have to remember the 70,000 innocent Tamils who lost their lives in the struggle. We must pursue the aims and values for which they lost their lives.” For the record, 70,000 is the total number of lives lost in the conflict, many of whom are civilian lives lost due to LTTE bombs specifically targeting civilians (a list of these events can be found at www.sinhaya.com - please beware this site has the actual gruesome details).

A large number of Tamil lives lost were those of the moderate Tamil politicians that the LTTE bumped off in record time. The LTTE wiped out entire Tamil political groups in Sri Lanka in well known and documented incidents simply so that they could claim to be the sole representatives of Tamils in Sri Lanka. The list of moderate Tamil political leaders and visionaries that the LTTE killed includes the late foreign minister of Sri Lanka, the much respected Lakshmi Kadirgamar, and many, many more, the list too long to mention.

All these facts go on to show just how much these MP's have been mislead by the LTTE propaganda. This also goes to show a significant strength of the strongest terror groups in the world, including the likes of LTTE and AlQuaeda - their amazing ability to convince people of utter lies. A very good example of LTTE mis-propaganda is in order: There is a Hindu cultural event which practices public self-mutilation in the form of extreme body piercing for penance. The LTTE supporters in the past used photographs of this event as evidence of torture of tamils by the Sri Lankan government!

Mispropaganda is no surprise from an organization (LTTE) that has one of the most prolific suicide bombing brigades in the world. Many of the suicide bombers are abducted child soldiers who have been brain-washed from childhood to eventually become disposable suicide bullets of their leader.

In this google world, what excuse do a bunch of British MP's headed by Mr. Keith Vaz have, to be mislead by the false and one-sided propaganda of a designated terror group, the LTTE, and to go so far as to attend and support their heroes day celebrations in the U.K?

If they were simply mislead, it does not indicate an intellect that is fit enough to hold political office in the UK. If they were not mislead, then it shows political opportunism to the core.

In either case, these MP's are not fit to hold political office in the UK. This petition is an urgent request for them to do the right thing at least at this late stage by stepping down and saving the UK political system from the corruption and scum that has become part and parcel of political systems in many parts of the world.
