Human rights abuse in TOGO has reached an intolerable level.
Since December 2012, many of the opposition leaders have been arrested and tortured in military camps for fires in market places. But today we know that the fires were set by government agents.
Since December 2012, many opposition leaders have been arrested and tortured in military camps in TOGO. The government used the fires in market places as an excuse to justify those unlawful detentions. And today we know that all the fires were set by government agents.
So we, the undersigned, are asking that all the democrats detained in military camps, interrogation houses and prisons be released immediately. Nobody should be tortured anymore in TOGO. All the more than 100 people who disappeared from their homes must be returned to their families.
