#Employment
Target:
Boone Madison Public Library director and board president, Boone County Commission
Region:
United States of America

As of April 15th 2015, our local library, located in Racine, lost its longtime dedicated library clerk, Bessie Barker, due to an unjustified termination. Bessie has always dedicated herself to serving her patrons with a smile.

She has always been willing to go above and beyond to provide the best service for all that walked through the doors. Because of her, our library had thriving programs for our youth. It's unfortunate that the quality of service provided by Bessie was not valued and the needs of our patrons disregarded.

We, the patrons of Coal River Public Library, demand that Bessie Barker’s employment be reinstated. Bessie has dedicated almost 23 years to our local library and her termination is devastating. Our community needs to have a library where our patrons can experience friendly service with a familiar and welcoming face.

Having Bessie back will ensure that our patrons will continue using the library and embrace reading. Our Story Time program will continue to thrive and help children grow a love for reading. The community will be able to rest easy knowing if they need help she is always there to serve with a smile.

Bessie has put so much work into building up and promoting our local library. Now it’s time for us to show our support by demanding that her employment be reinstated.
