My name is Holly Lemmer my husband was hurt at work in February 2007 and was released too early by the workers comp doctor and the same accident happened again in April 2007.

My husband was hurt so bad that he is still out on medical. Workers compensation has gone through the court system and his case has been denied as of Dec 2007. The courts are basing there decision on there doctors report that is saying that he is okay and can return to work with no restrictions.

Let me say, someone that cannot walk straight and walks 3 house down to the mail and in sever pain, on some serious meds. Do you think he is ready to return to work? Did I mention he is sceduling surgery in January , but he is good to go.

This is a man that worked 50 to 70 hours a week and since then he can't work at all and they are saying this is not a work injury. Why because he went to a chiropractor two years earlier. Go figure.

They will do and say what ever to not pay for medical and compensation. The employers seem to have the courts in there back packet. Meanwhile we loose all are saving and are home. Why because we are the injured worker that worked hard and now we can't lets through them out like trash.

We are Americans too. We helped build the great nation.

Workers compensation was a name given to a system of laws meant to protect injured workers. There was essential Elements Established by are great commission, so very long ago. Meant for all state to fully comply by July 1, 1975. Here it is December 2007 and not one state out of 50 have. They aren't even close.

The facts are that 80% of cases go right through workers comp. but that is the minor injuries. what happened to the other 20% you ask? well they are the serious injuries and many have been denied by the courts or on PTD and settled out.

Ed Welch asserts Workers' Compensation has had many changes favoring employers. He states that these changes have caused serious problems within the system that has an adverse affect on the workers claims.

The insurance carriers need to be held accountable for the negligence The carriers are driving the cost up with denied claims and sending workers 50 or more miles to a doctor, prolonging the treatments, causing people to become totally disabled. ITS NOT ABOUT MONEY ITS ABOUT PEOPLE!

Many employers utilize doctors who are more interested in keeping good relations with the employer then correctly diagnosing the employee. Employees should have the right to go to there doctor. Not forced to go to a doctor that they don't like, its there bodies and they should feel good about who the are seeing.

All the employers are worried about costs. Well what about the costs the Workers' Compensation is having on SSI shouldn't that be a concern it all. People that are denied Workers Compensation and are totally disabled end up on SSI. The olders people with a industy injuy end up retirering early and on SSI. This should be a big concern with the baby boomers and the generations that follow. SS is in trouble and this is making it worse for all that pay into SS.

Workers Compensation needs to be investigated. The workers of America are the back bone of this nation and we need to make sure that they are run the way we intend them to run.

The injured workers of America need the Government to step in and help.
