Compensation and redress for all children who were abused under state care

Dear premier of Victoria I am writing this letter to you on behalf of all children of state ward, home child, or foster children of Victoria.

I notice that WA is taking applications for compensation and other states like Queensland and Tasmania have also offered compensated and yet Victoria will take no blame of what happened to children who were in all homes across Victoria.

We are all carrying scars from physical and mental abuse at the hands of these institutions. I notice that the government has underfunded the department of human services for services to be provided to children who were placed in institutions as children and were neglected and abused and were left without families to care for them. They were sent out into the world usually aged around 16 years of age with no experience of life behind them and a lot of girls at the time who fell pregnant were forced to give their babies up for adoption as there was no money to care for the child. All these children who were under institutions that were funded by the government need redress for compensation and an official apology from the prime minister as most of these children who are now adults lost a lot from their lives.

We are asking the premier to take action on our behalf.
