Previously in DEN, we used to have an opportunity to work on homework and missing assignments or get 30 minutes of outside time where we could get all of our energy out. Now we have to do DEN assignments such as Word within a word that nobody takes seriously, and we have one more thing to worry about in an already overcrowded life.
Unfortunately, the change had many unintended consequences and few positive effects. Although the motive of this program was to teach new complex concepts to students, it only wasted their time as they did not learn anything new. Therefore I and the students signing this petition believe that Den should be a place to catch up on missing assignments and get your energy out through recess, not a graded class.
