I was recently informed that, due to the economic crisis, Polk County (Florida) school are cutting back on many "extras", including art programs. I've been in chorus for as long as I can remember and if they were to take that class away from me, I'd be lost just like many students.
Chorus isn't the only elective the school board is trying to take away. This would effect band, drama, visual arts, etc. The educators of these classes love what they do and the students being taught enjoy the classes. Chorus is the only class I look forward to anymore.
Please, help keep art in school by signing this petition.
By signing this petition, we can prove to the Polk County school board just how much we love and need these art programs.
