We demand that the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools order an independent investigation into specific events from January 2016 - 2017 involving personnel at Stratford School. The focus of such an investigation must examine the effect of these events on the personnel at Stratford School, the administrative response to the events, and the impact of that response on the school culture, teachers’ work environment, and learning experience and safety of all students.
We demand that the Board communicate the findings of this investigation before September 2017 in a clear and transparent way to the community to assure parents of the safety of their children at Stratford School.
If there are findings that indicate the necessity to extend the timeline parameters for the investigation to be necessary, we ask the Board and Superintendent to extend the parameters of the investigation. If the investigation is extended, we request a summary of the findings to date be presented to the community before the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
As members of the community and parents we can clearly see there is a problem at Stratford School and we ask the Board to take real action to correct the issues beginning with this investigation.
In compliance with Board Policy 1440 this request has been made to the administration, the Superintendent and the Board of Education on several occasions. These requests are on record at Board meetings and in letters submitted to the district. We have followed the chain of command and are now seeking the support of the Board.
