The City of North Vancouver Official Community Plan (OCP) allows for density of 2.6 Floor Space Ratio (FSR) and buildings up to 6 stories high along the City’s Upper Lonsdale Corridor. The buildings currently along the City’s Upper Lonsdale corridor are generally 3 to 4 stories. Increasing the height and density will result in increases to traffic congestion, reduction and/or elimination of views, increased shadowing east and west of Lonsdale (particularly at dusk and dawn), reduced parking availability, and potential losses of green space (including cutting down trees to fit in the FSR) among other concerns.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders change the OCP to reflect the original FSR and zoning of RM-1 (3 stories).
