At the end of the year, the majority of American Drive-ins will face closure with the industry's switch from 35 mm film to digital. American Honda Motor Co. has donated digital projection equipment to keep nine drive-in theaters open, but there are another approximately 120 drive-ins that lost out on the Project Drive-in Honda campaign and will not be receiving support from the auto manufacturer.

This is a petition to be taken to the U.S. Big Three Auto companies GM, Ford and Chrysler to show them significant interest in having them launch a similar campaign as their competitor Honda to provide digital equipment for additional drive-ins, in order to save more of them as an American Icon and a big part of historic American car culture.

We can help The Big Three auto companies, as the case with Honda, see the huge lucrative promotional opportunities and invaluable show of good will through such campaigns. Honda received lots of positive media coverage through Project Drive-in that would likely be of interest to the other auto makers.
