Petition for safer parking near Cage Green Primary School

The local community including children crossing the road and other pedestrians are being put at increased risk because of the volume of traffic, congestion, illegal parking and dangerous manoeuvres carried out by the large numbers of visitors to the area surrounding Cage Green School. 
Residents are frequently inconvenienced at drop off and collection times.
At peak times emergency vehicles would not be able to gain access to the homes of residents, putting their lives at risk.
Despite efforts by the police and the school to stop this, every school day our children's lives are put at risk by illegal parking outside Cage Green School.
We want the local authority to take action before another serious accident occurs. Possible solutions are:
To close the road during school drop off and pick up times and improve signage outside the school
To Install CCTV outside the school that can facilitate in the prosecution of offenders.
To employ more traffic wardens to enforce fines, the powers to give fixed penalty notices have been taken away from police but the Parking Enforcement department don't have the staff to police the areas, if this is the case give the powers back to the police.
We all have a responsibility as parents and drivers to stay safe and protect children around our streets and schools. The double yellow lines are there for a reason and people are breaking the law day after day with no respect or regard for our children's safety just so they have to walk a shorter distance.
The law is there for everyone to abide by! Parking illegally is just unacceptable!
