Many children cross Wheelers Green Way in Thatcham to get to school. Cars quickly turn onto the road from the small roundabout on Station Road. There are huge hedges on either side of the road blocking a clear view of approaching traffic. However, even if the hedges were taken away I strongly feel that there needs to be a pedestrian crossing to keep children safe. Previously, when I have spoken to the council about the danger of this road they suggested crossing at the island on Station Road. This island is not very wide and I don't feel it is very safe for young children or buggies. If the government wants as many children to walk to school as possible it needs to be safe to do so.

We the undersigned call for a safe pedestrian crossing on Wheelers Green Way and the removal of the large hedges blocking the view of oncoming traffic.
