G4S are looking to purchase three properties in Derby to build Assylum Hostels. Pear Tree Street, Normanton, Frances Street, Chaddesden & Stepping Lane, Derby.
This petition has been created to demonstrate public opposal to the scheme for a number of reasons.
One of the main reasons being the safety risks arising when housing a large number of people with the possibility of having no traceable background or ties / responsibilities in this country on a site adjacent to a childrens park, school playing field and in close proximity to a school nursery and a number of childcare providers in the same and surrounding street.
This petition is not opposing asylum in general and comments left referring to race and culture will not be tolerated and removed.
We, the undersigned, call upon Derby City Council to reject plans from G4S to site Asylum Hostels in Derby, specifically Stepping Lane.
