Opposition to Closure of Manitoba Public Lands for Motorized Vehicle Use

We, the undersigned residents of Manitoba, draw the attention of the Minister of Conservation and Water Stewardship to the following:

THAT, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship has proposed an 80% reduction of motorized vehicle trails in the Mars Hill Wildlife Management Area. A number of individuals and organizations have worked tirelessly and selflessly with both the Government and local area representatives on behalf of all motorsports enthusiasts to try and come to a reasonable solution so that the trails in the Mars Hill WMA area will remain available for use by outdoor enthusiasts of all types, including those who participate in off road vehicle riding.

Due to the (apparent) lack of data as to why such a closure is required, due to the (apparent) information indicating that there will be no future monitoring should the closure proceed and due to the lack of canvassing all stakeholders, we oppose this proposal. The Manitoba Public Land Access Group has been formed to bring these matters to your attention and create this petition.

THEREFORE, we oppose any closure of public lands in the Province of Manitoba to motorized vehicle use.
