- Town Plan and Zoning Commission of the Town of Fairfield Connecticut
- United States of America
Nine Tweny Seven Group LLC purchased the historic Sherman homestead in October 2012 in a Residence B zone. They immediately developed it for commercial use and added 938 sq. ft. (24%) to the original structure. They are now applying for a zone change to commercial (DCD) for the 4,914 sq. ft. structure, requiring 20 parking spaces.
There is signficant potential adverse impact on traffic and safety on John Street, a narrow (16') lane adjacent to historic Spruce Street. This property is also pivotal in protecting the vibrant, mixed-use character of Southport Village.
We, the undersigned, call on the TPZ to deny the proposed zone change of 172 John Street from Residence B to Designed Commercial District.
The Oppose Commercial Zone at 172 John Street petition to Town Plan and Zoning Commission of the Town of Fairfield Connecticut was written by Historic Spruce Street Neighbors and is in the category City & Town Planning at GoPetition.
