Since the release of the Nokia 6120c/6121 mobile/cell phone, Nokia has been made aware of many functional problems.

User forums have been bombarded with thousands of complaints where owners have contacted Nokia informing them of the problems, yet Nokia is still producing these phones knowing of the issues that users are experiencing. Many users have tried firmware upgrades without problems being fixed.

It is time that Nokia listen to their customers and do something to fix:

1. Deep sleep hibernation locking of the phone where you have to wait three minutes to deactivate. This means you have a blank screen and cannot use the phone. Many users try to turn off the phone, however that is not always successful to do. In times of emergency, three minutes could be catastrophic.

2. Over heating issues when using the phone, anywhere from one minute to five minutes the phone begins to over-heat. The ear piece becomes so hot that you cannot hold the phone to your ear. According to some forum posters, Nokia has advised to purchase a Bluetooth ear piece which is not an acceptable fix to the problem. It seems it is a design fault as other Nokia phones offering the same features do not overheat.

Nokia needs to redesign the faceplate to make it more user-friendly.

July 10 2008 Update: Gayle Wilson has had her phone repaired and the problems still remain. Her faceplate is now bubbling where it gets the hottest and the film over the screen is starting to peel away.

To all 6120c/6121 owners, post this petition URL when ever you read a forum post complaining about these phones. We need to make a stance and get Nokia to start listening to its' consumers and act on the reported faults.

We, the undersigned being Nokia 6120c/6121 owners [worldwide], request Nokia to address the ongoing issues of hibernation and over-heating. As consumers we should be able to use the phone without being inconvenienced with overheating and blank screens where the phone is not useable.
