NO campground in the Socastee area

A campground on the Hague property (194.68 acres) will bring transitional living right in the middle of what is mostly surrounded by long-term residential living. Those who live on Folly Road, Watergate Drive, Stonebridge Drive and those who live along the Intracoastal Waterway on Burcale Road and adjacent to the property up for rezoning will be the most immediately affected. Others affected is anyone who will be traveling in the increased traffic and stop lights due to campers coming and going (around 430 campers). We are already facing more traffic on this end, of the less than par road infrastructure, along Hwy 707 due to the new Socastee Elementary that will be in full swing soon. The same concerns remain with a campground coming that have been voiced since December when this rezoning process first began...transitional living in a long-term residential area, noise, partying, increase in crime for the area, disturbances in surrounding neighborhoods, long term residents having to look out their front doors and driving to our homes and seeing the backs of campers, and as already mentioned, the amount of traffic. It was already recommended at the March meeting by Horry County Planning and Zoning this rezoning be DENIED.
