Stonham-BASS, a private firm, is planning to open a bail hostel in Wrexham for prisoners returning to the community but without a home.
The bail hostel would be on a large housing estate with many young children. Those using the hostel have a range of problems but they would be unsupervised by the private company. Other hostels run by this firm have been closed down for misbehaviour and anti-social behaviour in the past.
Stonham-BASS have not consulted with the local community and do not need planning permission to open this new business.
We, the undersigned, reject plans by a private firm funded by the UK Ministry of Justice to house people awaiting trial or leaving prison in a bail hostel in Wrexham despite them having no connection with the borough.
Wrexham is not a dumping ground.
