Maths GCSE

Please sign this petition so that we can have more of a chance to pass our GCSE's.

This is the petition proposal we have sent to the Minister for Education.

''We feel that the change of goal posts for GCSE's, in particular Maths, as set down by the Department for Education are unfair. We, the undersigned, have already begun to undertake revision and further tuition in preparation to take this examination in November, at the foundation level.

Due to these changes we now have no option but to take the higher level examination in June. For those of us who have been unable to demonstrate aptitude for the subject, we are now faced with the prospect of failure at a higher level with no opportunity to re-take the examination prior to commencing higher education.
We appreciate that the Department for Education would like every child to have the opportunity to reach their full potential. However, for those of us not blessed with the same natural abilities as others we feel it is unfair that we should be forced to fail at a higher level and hence damage our self esteem, for the sake of statistics."
