#Animal Rights
Target:
Kearns Town Council and Salt Lake County
Region:
United States of America

We, the residents of Kearns and surrounding areas would like to see a dog friendly area that we can take our dogs to off leash or in an area where they can run freely without the Animal Control consistently chasing us off. We have used the Oquirrh Park which is located South West of Beehive Elementary school for several years. This park is rarely used other than truency by children missing school, drug users as we often find needles, condoms, hygiene products in the park. The park is not maintained very well. Just South of the park is an empty field where people often use off road vehicles. We are asking that we be given some place to take our animals where we are not treated like we are "criminals" for exercising our dogs. They have the right as we do to have a place to exercise freely. We pay taxes on this park and are not being given rights to access the full use of it. We are signing a petition to be given access to an area where our dogs can play freely off leash and or not have animal control sitting there in the vehicles waiting to pounce on us at any given moment.

This petition is being put out there currently for online facebook users and there will be an actual petition drawn up for residents of the area to sign and that will be mailed to the Kearns council with copies made to the Salt Lake County as well as Governor.
