Lower Speed Limit in Rosanky

For several years I have lived in Rosanky TX and have children that have ridden the Smithville ISD school bus. On numerous occasions I have seen vehicles ignore the fact that small children stand on the side of the road waiting for the bus and continue to drive 70mph.

I have had to witness cars ignoring the school bus red lights when picking up my child and other children and almost hit our children. On a couple of occasions I have had to pull out of my driveway to alert the cars to stop. The bus driver has called the local authorities, I have called TX Dot and the local authorities numerous times. The local authorities do not have enough men and women on patrol to sit and watch the traffic every day.

I believe if the speed limit is lowered and enforced daily that eventually people will obey the speed limit at 55mph and slow down. The Wagon Wheel has hundreds of patrons every morning and the speed limit being 70mph makes it dangerous to pull out onto HWY 304. Before a child gets badly injured or killed I believe it the local communities responsibility to protect everyone who lives in Rosanky.
