#City & Town Planning
Target:
Mayor of the City of Mandurah
Region:
Australia

Retail trading hours within the City of Mandurah are set by council, not state government. Mandurah's trading hours are currently shorter than our neighbouring council - The City of Rockingham, who has elected to trade the same hours as the City of Perth. This means that if you need some groceries after work, it's Rockingham's retailers than benefit from your spend, instead of ours in Mandurah.

The Mandurah region has the highest unemployment in the country and “Opening Mandurah” would assist in creating local jobs. By aligning our trading hours to Perth's, shops would have the choice to be open longer on weekdays = more jobs available to the local workforce, and more spending coming back into the City of Mandurah.

The Lakelands, Hall Heads and Mandurah Forum shopping centres support this petition.

Please give your support to Mandurah's retailers and sign our petition to extend retail trading hours!

We, the undersigned, all being residents of the City of Mandurah, do respectfully request that Council considers adhering to the will of the people and adopts the same retail trading hours as the Perth Metropolitan Area.

As a ratepayer and resident of Mandurah I have shown my support of this proposal by signing this petition.
