We have over 500 signatures supporting a young man's petition to install flashing speed signs at Koroit and District Primary School. The Victorian Liberal Party promised to install these, on re- election, but the current Government insists we do not need them!
Our School crossing is still here, and still dangerous. Our state government has changed and we have now been pushed aside. Cities seem to be your priority! According to VicRoads, our signs are sufficient and visible. I challenge VicRoads, Premier Andrew Daniels, or Minister of Roads and Safety, Luke Donnellan, to stand and work on our crossing for one afternoon. Our crossing Supervisor is at risk, our children are at risk and our drivers are at risk. Your future voters are at risk!
Constantly we have challenges in our zone. Police shortage in our town really does not support our cause.
Recently we had parents cleaning debris of the road from a collision, and teachers diverting traffic for 90 minutes before police arrived. Our police station is 100 meters from our zone!
Without police monitoring our zone, we are in danger. On rainy days, cars seem to be in more of hurry and this makes our crossing even more dangerous. We ask that you consider changing our zone. We ask that double lines be continued further along our zone to make it u-turn free. We ask signage be clearly written on the road. This will be more visible to drivers and give more warning. A rumble signage would be ideal. We need more car parking to stop the headache of cars parking in silly dangerous places.
Flashing lights would still be the best warning but we need something that can be funded now. All school crossings should be safe. All schools should have safe crossings. We need assistance.

We ask this Government seriously take another look at this.
