My brother, Kenneth Shoulder (Shannon), was arrested on June 12, 2014 (two days before his wedding day) because of a 9 month investigation and two people allegedly has insinuated he was involved in a drug trafficking ring and operation! Please sign my petition to help release my brother, Kenneth.
My brother has been in jail for months with bond denial due to state’s attorney accusations that, “Kenneth is a menace to the community and should not be released due to the community request.” Every community person that have been interviewed or questioned was outraged and is extremely emotional about the charges and the arrest of Kenneth.
To this day, the community is hurt and expresses their anger and pain that the courts said he was a menace to the community when all he did was gave back and helped maintain a falling community. No weapons or drugs were found during the search of his home, and so we’re really confused and heartbroken that our family is being violated like this.
While stuck in jail, Kenneth has received news of my mother’s failing health. Her Renal Cancer has returned and it is in stage 3 with no cure. It is in three locations of her body and she has completed one round of treatment successfully by God’s grace. Also I am his sister who is ill with Lupus, Sarcoidosis, and fibromyalgia and I am the one left to care for our mother.
Kenneth has a young daughter 2 years old who longs for her father and as fiancé who is completely distraught without her soul-mate who was due to marry her two days prior to this arrest.
Kenneth is a warm and caring man. He wouldn’t hurt anyone, let alone be a menace to the very community that he was raised in. What I understand happened is past events that have spilled over into the present.
Kenneth has run one of the most successful basketball tournament s in our community, he host the community picnic that feeds at least 500 people with entertainment, games, and prizes. He have donated and sponsored gym shoes and uniforms to the local CPS schools both elementary and High School. He has worked on campaigns and encouraged the youth to get out and vote!
Kenneth has also made sure that local children have made it through college through the Shepherd’s Construction Scholarship fund and have paid for books and living expenses of several college students.
The authorities’ over-reaction is ruining Kenneth's life. And it’s setting a unjust example trying to punish individuals who have turned their lives around. The justice system’s witch hunt of Kenneth is wasting time and money that could otherwise be spent to help people who honestly need it!
I hope you will sign this petition. My family and I would like Kenneth to be released. And I would like justice to prevail and God’s Grace and Mercy to continue to shield us.
