It has been bought to my attention that there is a proposal being put to ballina shire council to stop people fishing in shaws bay. This is an amazing place for children to fish safely, without rocks oysters or and drops. It is also a place many tourists fish.
People that use this place for a relaxing day of fishing respect the surrounds and generally leave the area clean and free of tackle. I personally feel this is a wonderful place to swim, fish and relax. To take away yet another of our "freedoms" is just unrealistic. I also believe that if the person or persons opposing the right to continue fishing in shaws bay is so opposed to the peaceful recreational family activity, then they do not need to partake in the activity.
We the undersigned, call on Ballina Shire Council, to leave Shaws Bay, Ballina, as the wonderful family friendly recreation and fishing area , it is and has been for many years.
