Behavioral Health Care's Early Childhood Day Treatment is a progressive, developmentally appropriate preschool program for children with a psychiatric diagnosis, 3 through 6 years old. This program has been in operation since June 2000, serving 137 children in the West Plains and surrounding areas. Goals and objectives set through treatment team meetings include the child AND the family. A parent support group component and focus on family involvement is an important part of the program.

This program allows children to receive the help needed to allow them to function appropriately when it is time for them to enter a traditional educational setting.

Without this program, these children will enter into a school setting unable to function in the same manner as their peers, requiring extra attention from the teachers, taking time away from the other students. This could be costly to the teachers, students, and the child.

The ECDT program is a year round program run by a very caring competent staff, with special training in program operations. The loss of this program would mean a great loss to a very large amount of people throughout the area.

We need to keep the Behavioral Health Care Early Childhood Day Treatment program open.

Not only will the closing of this program result in the loss of jobs, it will mean the children who benefit greatly from this program will be without the help they need and deserve.

Please help us to keep this program up and running for the children in the West Plains and surrounding areas.
