This petition was put together in memory of Wayne Brown and his family. Wayne was sadly murdered in 2011 on rodwayrd, patchway, Bristol.
His murderer was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to 25yrs, with a minimum of 21yrs. However it has come to light that Wayne's family are not entitled to any form of compensation because Wayne had minor convictions that totaled over 9 points.
The law should be changed for suffering families in the future as well as Wayne's.
We members of the community of patchway want the law to be changed regarding compensation given to families who have had a member of the family murdered who had minor convictions and are not entitled to compensation because of this.
