Education cutbacks in the recent Government Budget will negatively effect the education of all students,teachers and facilities, in almost all community schools, Teacher substitution cover will be suspended from January 2009.
This means children will not be accompanied by teachers for the following school-trips sports trips i.e football matches Rugby biology an geography trips will be abolished!! Trips to Art galleries and museums will be abolished!!
From September 2009 teacher/pupil ratio will be altered from18:1 to 19:1 meaning the loss of 3 to 5 teachers in most schools resulting in larger classes, Reduction in subjects, Transition Year and LCA are to be abolished, School book grants Abolished!! Exam Fee increase of € 8, WE CANNOT ALLOW OUR GOVERNMENT TO STRIP OUR CHILDREN OF THEIR RIGHT TO A FULL EDUCATION,,, School trips and sport are an important part of children's education.
In a time when the government complain that our children spend too much time in front of the tele they want to take away these such interests that play a very important roll in a lot of their lives!! what would have happened to Glenn Crowe or Eamonn Coghlan, Jimmy Holmes, if there had of been no sport in school??
Please help us take action against our government and help put a stop to teacher cutbacks before it impacts our children's lives!!
Stop the Irish Government Budget from effecting our children's education!! No More teacher cut backs!!!!
