Review this Injustice: Why No pension rights for Australians living in France?

I am an Australian, living in France since 1982, and I have been trying to establish my right to apply for Australian old age pension since 2012.

The Australian government does not have a Social Services Agreement with France, although it does with 29 other countries, including every European country (except the UK). The Pensions Department has told me that, because I live in France, I must return to Australia and would have to reside there for 2 years on receiving a Pension. In addition, in calculating my entitlement, my home in France would be considered as an asset.

If I lived in any of the 29 countries, I could apply for an Australian Pension from there and I would not have to return to Australia to do so. I would not have to reside there for 2 years either. My home here would not be taken into account in calculating my pension entitlement.

The Pensions Department has also informed me that the reason there is no Social Services Agreement with France is because France has different pension structure to that of Australia.

WHAT ABSOLUTE RUBBISH! THEY'VE REACHED AGREEMENTS WITH 29 OTHER COUNTRIES, ALL OF WHICH HAVE PENSION SYSTEMS THAT DIFFER FROM THAT OF AUSTRALIA, AND INCLUDING BELGIUM WHICH HAS AN ALMOST IDENTICAL PENSION SYSTEM TO THAT OF FRANCE AND THEY DO HAVE SOCIAL SERVICES AGREEMENT.

I have been in contact with French government and have been told that they are willing to enter into negotiations, whenever the Australians are ready.
(As well as to rectify an obvious wrong, in view of the enormous defence contract recently signed between France and Australia, it must be in Australia's interest to do so.)
